Indigenous Business Directory

A central component of FNPA's long-term mandate is the creation and administration of a trusted registry of verified First Nations businesses. A modern, Indigenous-led business directory will improve supplier visibility, strengthen buyer confidence, enhance procurement integrity, and support federal and industry Indigenous procurement objectives.

National Procurement Capacity-Building

First Nations businesses have identified significant challenges when pursuing procurement opportunities. Common barriers include having to build in-house procurement systems and policy, difficulty navigating government systems, and a lack of access to capital and bonding tools. FNPA will engage with partners and businesses to develop programming aimed at improving Indigenous business competitiveness and active participation in procurement opportunities nationwide.

Verification Protocols

Along with our Canadian and Indigenous partners, FNPA is working with Supply Nation of Australia to understand what has worked for them and apply these principles and policies to make our process robust and fully supported, while helping to diversify supply chains and remove barriers.
